A small but cozy cafe/pub. Owned by the wife of an Aussie expat/retiree living here in Ubon. Nice place for some good Thai food, cold beer or other drinks and some good friendly conversation. Draws afternoon crowd but I am sure they would love if you could find your way over there in the evenings too.
No scheduled public transportation passes N-Joy but you can easily drive there or take a tuk-tuk. You can find N-Joy on Palochai Rd. near the end. from town go past Tohsang City Hotel, past the prison, past "Big Cock Restaurant" and look to the right hand side. If you see a school or the river you've gone too far. Go check it out and tell 'em Darwin sent you.

A nice nightclub on Chayangkun Rd here across from a PT&T Gas or Petrol Station here in Ubon. Many expats enjoy spending an evening here. Why? The location is convenient and easy to find. The band decent and plays a mix of Thai and English songs in their sets and the volume isn't so loud that you can't here yourself think. It is also frequented by Thais as it's not a farang exclusive club.
Good place to enjoy a cold drink and listen to some good music. You can get food there but I have never eaten there so can't comment on it. The waitresses and barkeeps are pleasant and easy to look at. All in all an establishment to spend an enjoyable night on the town.
The heart and soul of Isaan.
